I'm in the business of helping you to start and/or growing your business. I don't have all the answers and I'm not going to try to fool you into thinking I do. I do promise to do my best to help get you on the right path. Your path. I think of myself as sort of a guidance counselor. I've helped lots of women on the path to successful business ownership. I love to help with branding and I think I'm pretty good at it too. I specialize in helping you to give voice to your vision. 'Behind the Scenes' Branding, I call it. That means that I don't sell website design, graphics, logos, blog designs or any of that pretty stuff. I can refer you to some very talented people in that department if you're looking for some visual brand assistance. Many times we work together to perfect your unique brand.
I'm not an advertising agent, though throughout your business journey, we will absolutely be showing you off! My job is to go below the surface. I strive to get you, your business and your website noticed. But not through traditional means. I've got an ever-growing arsenal of ideas, all of which are quick and easy on the budget.
Just because it's business doesn't mean it can't be personal (and fun!) The business of business doesn't have to be formal and dry. Even if we're experts in our field, we all need a little help sometimes. That goes for me, too. While I've been at this awhile, I am never satisfied with the amount of knowledge I possess. I'm always learning, taking classes, reading and testing new theories and strategies. I use this arsenal of knowledge to make your business work better for you. I do this through consultations. Whether you have a simple question or need a more extensive discussion, I can help. What About SEO?
SEO? Sure, we hang out, but I wouldn't say we were close. SEO is one of those high maintenance friends. Always needs attention and you just never know if it's getting you anywhere. And fickle, you never really know what she wants-it changes regularly. I see the value of SEO and appreciate what it has to offer. I infuse commonly accepted SEO practices into my writing and am cognizant of keywords and linking as I write. But between keeping up with all the changes and maintaining them regularly...it's a full time job. Just not MY full time job. Between you and I - I have a crush on her friend, free marketing.
CopywritingCopywriting is marketing. Is your website copy working for you? When a visitor lands on your homepage you have mere moments to convince them to click their way inside. Your homepage needs to be written primarily for your customers, but also must consider those very important search engine spiders. They're checking your site for dynamic content,as well. Well written copy will get your message across clearly, concisely and will help keep everyone happy.
On your pages and your product descriptions, are you using properly spaced, relevant keywords? Is your language enticing, engaging or otherwise inviting? I can help out with About Me/Bio pages, home page blurbs,and just about any other pages that need a little kick.
And how about your blog~Do you have loyal followers? Are you providing them with a reason to come back? You may consider someone to help you out with your prose. It just so happens I do ghostwriting. I write for lots of blogs, some you've probably read before. I even write blogs for a couple of New York Times best selling authors.
I'm pretty confident that I can help with compelling posts that your readers (and the search engines) will love.
My Writing Style:
Grammar, spelling and sentence structure. Ahh the triplets. Proper grammar is essential, as is correct spelling. I do my best to always ensure my work is professional in these regards. Sentence structure? Well, maybe not so much. I prefer to write in a conversational style, because for me-that's what flows best when I am reading. I find I absorb it and thus, remember it better. And since the writing I do is for the purpose of personalization and selling, it seems like the way to go. Besides it's me. And I kinda like me. There are plenty of formal, to the letter writers out there... they're just too stuffy for me.
Website & Blog Set Up
NOT the same as website design. I can help with implementing new websites from design installation to up and running. Once you have your design installed using one of my compatible hosts, we get this show on the road. I can also help you get started with your social networking needs like Facebook business pages and blogs.
I've spent a very long time compiling the most important tips, tricks, strategies and advice I've learned over the past 20+ years in business. I offer an assortment of informational handbooks designed to help with each of your individual needs. Everything from getting started to fabulous secret wholesale resource lists.
There are always new books in the works. If you have a subject you don't see, just ask.
